How to prevent Fake News from spreading? in Pakistan

Fake news is a form of news consisting of deliberate disinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional news media or online social media. Digital news has brought back and increased the usage of fake news, or yellow journalism.Wikipedia

We need to have a special body like the International Fact-Checking Network (I.F.C.N). – What this would do is, remove any ambiguity.

All we need to do is to refer to this list that the government will update every 30 minutes or round the clock.

You can add a translator that will help people who speak other languages understand.

This will be the easiest way to form a narrative. This list will be available for the general public or present online.

You can also add this as a messaging service. People will have the option to opt in to this messaging service. Every day they will receive one or two messages updating them about the government’s narrative. And some of the fake news that is circulating.

The other option is to shut these media channels, newspapers, and their respective websites.

I also suggest that we focus on the core issues or work and do not waste time on any of the social media platforms. This can be YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You only need 5-7 people to do this and it is a cost-effective way to create awareness and educate the masses.

The point is whenever you read an article or a blog post? make sure they add relevant and authentic references.

A relevant or authentic reference is information that is paraphrased from an article. That was published on a .gov website or an authentic university website or .edu.

Make sure that you do not believe in anything. That you see on YouTube or any other social networking site.
